This is the best example I've seen of how to explain 'what' the squirrels do to Lead DWV Boots. After discussion with the 'Varmit Patrol', they explain to me that the squirrels 'teethe' on the Lead like candy..... |

they just sit and nibble away, but 'why don't they get lead Poison?'.....??? Because their lifespan is only 6 years, and they don't live long enough for it to affect them.! |

We removed the boot after lifting the shingle nails carefully......you can see the roof decking and cut-out of the pipe..... |

and here you can see the new boot prior to going in.... |

The new Boot is tucked back under the shingles...and carefully nailed 'hidden' and then folded over the top of the pipe. We then renail all the shingles and seal with Tripolymer Clear Roofing Cement, which smells just like Airplane Glue. (they hate that smell...) |

and then we apply it around the lip and edges of the lead, and it repells them in the future. |
