Photo 5 shows the strikerplate missing. We pre-bored the jamb and countersunk the screwholes. We then applied glue to the crack…and pulled the crack together with 3” screws…which squeezed the glue out of the crack. Then we installed the striker, and applied epoxy resin into the screwholes. Sometimes we will bore the screwholes right thru the moulding instead of removing it. When the jamb is finished and epoxy put into the screwholes…you can’t even tell that the hole and screw had been bored thru the moulding. Saves time and labor. |
